Dust jacket with some shelf-wear, small 4to in blue cloth, over 260 photographs, 192pp, endpapers lightly foxed, contents clean and tight with no marks or foxing, overall Very Good/Fair.

Ottawa: Government Printing Office 1906. Low presents a report of the Dominion Government Expedition to Hudson Bay and the Arctic Islands, 1903-4, aboard the steamship D.G.S. Neptune, 1Capt. S. W. Bartlett. The report details the places visited and activities undertaken, including reports on ethnology, geology, and navigation issues. No dust jacket, 8vo in original brown cloth, titles and ship design in bright gilt on front board, 63 plates, 30x40-inch folded map in rear pocket (NE Canada and track of the Neptune), lower front corner bumped, minor denting in top and bottom edges of rear board, both boards remarkably bright and clean, both hinges starting but still intact, owner's name on front endpaper, contents clean and tight with no marks or foxing, quite a nice copy given its age of this fine account of NE Canada at the turn of the 20th century.

New York: W. W. Norton & Company 1938, 1st edition. With a knack for photography and extraordinary foresight, Albert Cook Church assembled over 40,000 negatives and prints from which he drew to present this unique record of the American whaling industry. No dust jacket, 4to in beige linen with imprinted photo on front board, pictorial endpapers, color print by Gordon Grant tipped in on page 12, 214 photos and illustrations, 179pp, owner's name (noted artist George Allen Pierce) appears in several places o/w no marks, tight, light shelfwear, a rather nice copy of one of the most important photographic records of the whaling industry in America, Good+.
