Dust jacket chipped along top edge, 8vo in green cloth, ship list, 36 illustrations (some new for this edition), index, 404pp, contents clean and tight with no marks, near Fine/Good.

New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons 1904, under the direction of the New York Yacht Club. Clark presents this first-ever history of pleasure boats, large and small, based on meticulous research into both the literature and the graphic record. No dust jacket, small 4to half-bound in black and cream buckram, spine and front board gilt-stamped (still bright), top edges gilt (darkened), fore and bottom edges untrimmed, 96 plates with tissues, index, 243pp, boards bumped and lightly soiled, some shelf-wear, name-stamp of famous ship modeler August F. Crabtree, book was not sewn well as it is intact but beginning to loosen, both joint fine, contents clean, overall a Good copy of a remarkable and quite scarce book on the origins of modern yachting.
