Dust jacket present but in pieces and badly chipped, 8vo in blue cloth with titles and design gilt-stamped on front board, 47 b&w illustrations on plates, list of 65 sails on an Indiaman in 1816, index, 254pp, slight glue residue on front endpaper from removal of bookplate o/w no marks, clean and tight, Very Good.

London: Spring Books, 1965 reprint of 1927 original. Prints of every kind of sailing ship which the engravers in the past sought to illustrate, including galleys, carracks, merchantmen and men-of-war, clippers, and more. Dust jacket scuffed at corners and torn across rear but intact, small 4to in navy paper, lower corners slightly bumped, partially removed bookplate on inside front endpaper, 69 b&w plates, index, 182pp, contents clean and tight with no marks, Very Good.

5 Chatterton, E. Keble Sailing Ships and their Story

Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott Company 1915. The story of the development of sailing ships from ancient times to the present day, with 104 illustrations. No dust jacket, extra royal 8vo in designed blue denim, color plate pasted-down on front board, edges very slightly fraying, some glue penetration, name stamp of famous modeller August F. Crabtree on outside front endpaper, color frontispiece by Charles Dixon, both hinges just beginning to loosen but intact, light foxing in margins, top edges lightly soiled, contents clean and tight, index, 362pp, 9 foldout plates in rear, despite wear quite a good copy.

6 Chatterton, E. Keble Ship-Models

London: The Studio, Ltd. 1923, numbered edition limited to 1,000 of which this is No. 168. This book represents Chatterton's effort to collect, before it is too late, the finest authentic models of sailing craft that are not merely beautiful in themselves but may be regarded as providing a pictorial representation of the ship's development until the age of steam. Large 4to in brown buckram, top edges gilt, boards beveled, titles and design gilt-stamped on front board, 53pp of text followed by 141 plates (8 tinted and tipped in), boards lightly scuffed and one small stain on lower front board, corners frayed, joints loosening, owner's name on half-title, contents clean with no marks or foxing, tinted plates are darkening (perhaps due to glue penetration), a very nice copy of quite a special modeling book, overall Good considering age and weight of coated stock.
