10 Wildman, Rounsevelle Tales of the Malayan Coast

Boston: Lothrop Publishing Co. 1899. Stories by Rounsevelle Wildman, Special Commissioner for the Straits Settlement and Siam, and later US Consul General to Hong Kong, illustrated by Henry Sandham. No dust jacket, 8vo in pictorial front board, blue cloth, top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed, 347pp, inscribed label dated 1906 on outside front endpaper, very minor dent in lower edge of front board, corners lightly frayed, the contents are clean and remarkably tight with no marks or foxing. Note: the brittle title page has cracked free and been re-attached with archival tape; similarly, the first plate and first text page are cracking but still intact; price of discounted to reflect these minor defects in an otherwise very nice copy of a memorable collection of stories.
