 1. Cooper, James F.  Prairie, The

Menasha WI: The Limited Editions Club, Inc. [1827] 1940 edition LIMITED to 1500 numbered copies, of which this no. 636, and SIGNED by the illustrator John Steuart Curry. The last in Cooper's five-volume saga of Leatherstocking Tales (though the 3rd published) featuring that intrepid woodsman and pioneer, Natty Bumppo. Slip-cased, 4to half-bound in deerskin and pictorial cloth, numerous sepia drawings by Curry, 413pp, case a bit worn but not torn, deerskin is delicate and lightly rubbed but uncut and unblemished, contents clean and tight with no marks, a near Fine copy in a Very Good case.
